Airvolution has unveiled plans for its latest wind development, a four-turbine site on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent.

The New Rides facility will feature 2MW hardware with 126-metre tips located close to two existing turbines (pictured) operated by Partnerships for Renewables at HMP Standford Prison.

The project is located on acreage to the east of the jail complex. PfR’s two 2.3MW Enercon machines flank the facility to the west.

Airvolution is undertaking an environmental impact assessment of the site and will hold a public exhibition later this month.

Community benefit for New Rides has been set at £40,000 per annum, in line with the new industry standard of £5000 per MW installed.
