Hardie Stevens, a vice president for sales and marketing at Zalpha Consulting of Rhode Island, is a member of a group of 18 MBA students from Babson College visiting Shanghai this week to learn about the business landscape here. I asked each for his or her best idea for a start-up company that would succeed in China.

Hardie saw a great future for the application of solar technology in automobiles that aren’t used to travel great distances per day. Chinese government encourage of the solar industry has also recently given a big boost to shares such as Yingli.
