Conservation Day in Brewster details

Brewster Conservation Day will be Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Drummer Boy Park in Brewster. This year there will be many interactive exhibits and demonstrations and four featured talks.

AmeriCorps will present, “Edible Aquifer,” a demonstration using a Sno-cone and colored water, of how water seeps through the ground to flow to the sea.

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History will present a program in which kids can pretend to be whales and practice how whales eat, and they can make solar prints of fish.

Brewster oyster grant holders are offering, “From Fish to Plate — how oysters are raised, and samples to be eaten.

My Generation Solar will have home energy tips and information about solar panels for homeowners.

Mass Fish and Wildlife will give casting demos and lessons and teach participants how to identify Brewster pond fish.

Attendees can also learn how to compost, to prepare for Pay-As-You-Throw program beginning in October.
