A series of workshops on solar energy hosted by Go Solar South Kitsap begins Tuesday.

Homeowners in Bremerton, Port Orchard and the surrounding area who register with the program are offered incentives, including the workshop, a free site assessment and bulk pricing on materials, according to a news release from the organization.

For every contract in the Go Solar South Kitsap campaign, Itek Energy, one of the program’s partners, will donate a solar panel to Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County. The goal is to install solar panels in 32 homes in a new Habitat for Humanity project underway in South Kitsap, said Habitat Director Daryl Daugs.

Go Solar South Kitsap is affiliated with Go Solar Washington, which in turn is part of the Bainbridge Island-based nonprofit Community Energy Solutions.

The workshop schedule includes:

5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday: The Norm Dicks Government Center, 345 Sixth St., Bremerton.

10-11:30 a.m. Nov. 16: Givens Community Center, 1026 Sidney Ave., Port Orchard.

5:30-7 p.m. Dec. 12: The Norm Dicks Government Center.
