Solar power is the renovation of sunlight into energy, either directly using photovoltaic (PV), or indirectly using intense solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking methods to center a huge area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaic changes light into electric current using the photoelectric effect. Each of these two forms of solar energy calls for the manufacture of two discrete sorts of solar panels.

One is labeled a solar collector that is used to warm water and then stock it in a tank for dispersal when wanted. The other type of panel is called a solar panel, or more properly, a photovoltaic panel. Solar panels gather the light waves from the Sun and alter it into direct current electricity, which can then be changed to alternating current using an inverter. Concerted Solar Power (CSP) systems utilize lenses or mirrors and tracing systems to center a massive section of sunlight into a small ray.
