Wind energy is one of the most environmentally benign sources of electricity generation. Wind turbines generate electricity without the requirement of fuel, consumption of water and emission of air pollutants. As such, wind energy helps conserve our natural resources at a level very few sources of power can achieve.

Multiple wind power developers have evaluated several proposed wind farms in Alabama and revealed potential projects ranging from several million to hundreds of millions of dollars. Along with the local jobs created by constructing these proposed wind farms, local tax revenue can also be used to reduce taxpayer costs.

Wind power projects have been developed all across the country. States like Iowa and Texas obtain large portions of their electricity generation mix from wind energy, which help to reduce their costs keeping energy dollars in state.

I support wind energy in Alabama because like Iowa and Texas, the state has the opportunity to attract a new multi-million dollar industry.
