Taking renewable energy to the New York Green Bank

It’s a little easier going green in New York, now that the state has launched the New York Green Bank, a lending mechanism designed to facilitate private-sector financing and “accelerate the transition to a more cost-effective, resilient and clean energy system,” according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

The state has set aside $210 million to lend to such private programs, but ultimately hopes to dole out some $1 billion through the Green Bank, which is now seeking clean-energy proposals – including solar, wind and other renewable-energy projects – from lenders, investors and end-users.
