Tips on choosing a solar contractor
Contractor selection tips as provided by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Commission:
* Seek multiple bids to find someone you are comfortable working with.
* Ask for a written description of the project, proposed timeline, installation requirements, pricing, potential additional expenses not included in the price, and warranty terms.
* Ask for references from previous customers. Call, and if possible, visit one or more of the contractor’s previous installations. State law requires a primary vendor be a registered home improvement contractor, have a licensed construction supervisor on staff and have a state-licensed electrician on staff or subcontracted. Ask for references for all subcontractors as well.
