NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) – Developing wind energy off the coast of the Carolinas is the topic of a forum being held in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

The South Carolina Clean Energy Business Alliance is sponsoring the meeting Tuesday on the North Charleston campus where Clemson has its wind turbine test facility.

Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, the director of business development at the turbine center, will discuss a new report that encourages the federal government to open areas off the coast for wind energy development.

Southeastern Coastal Wind Coalition president Brian O’Hara is also speaking at the meeting.
