The founder and chief executive of a major wind energy company is seeking wind farms anew, it has emerged.

Simple Power, which works with farmers to develop wind turbines which are then connected with the grid, announced that Paul Carson was leaving after three years with the company.

According to his profile on professionals’ networking website LinkedIn, Mr Carson is now ‘wind turbine developer’ at Renewable Energy.

His former company described him as a “leading Northern Ireland entrepreneur” who led Simple Power as a start-up and in development.

He was also at the helm in 2011 when Simple Power secured what was described as “significant” investment from super-angel fund Lough Shore Investments.

The company said operations director Philip Rainey will replace Mr Carson as chief executive.
